Meet Josie Dorans A friend of mine, and fellow writer, once told me that people just don't feel comfortable buying bread and chainsaws off the same shelf. This was in response to my question about the pros and cons of pen names. She has since made her journey into forever, but I will always think of her and be grateful for her help in birthing Josie Dorans.
Josie was created to give one small-town, self-published picture book writer and illustrator the opportunity to let her feistier side run amok. Although this writer's true identity is possibly the worst kept secret in the world, Josie allows a nice separation between content. When Josie and her nicer side aren't flailing around in the world of words (and pictures), she is quite content to pursue a well-rounded life in Southern West Virginia with her husband and furkids by restoring/remodeling her 1970 Karmann Ghia, playing with the idea of edible landscaping, crafting, having long conversations with just about everything from humans to the ceiling in her office, and finding new ways to never actually follow a recipe. Reading goes without saying. Oh, and yes, she does live in a log cabin on the side of a mountain. |
